TOILETPAPER is an artists’ magazine created by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, an altar to the passion/obsession they both worship: images.
Each picture springs from an idea, often simple, and through a complex orchestration of people it becomes the materialization of the artists’ mental outbursts.
TOILETPAPER contains no text and ever since the first issue of June 2010 combines the vernacular of commercial photography with twisted narrative tableaux and a troubling imagination, creating a world that displays ambiguous narratives and surrealistic imagery.
The result is a publication that is a proper work of art which, through its wide distribution in form of a magazine, challenges the limits of our contemporary value system.
